Once again I managed to not post on the blog, too much work, too little time and not enough bother.....

Live blog in the wood
After a nice long autumn snooze I was lucky enough today to get up to a beautiful morning so Doug and I bundled in the Landy for a walk in the woods.
Hainault forest is one of my favorite woods in the world one I have visited since I was a mini person so if going for a random walk it's one of my fave places.
We parked up in the woodland trusts Camelot car park (opposite the Miller and Carter pub) and set off for a stroller, no plan just a bit of a wander.
Not going to post a route or a map for the route but do highly advise if your ever in the Hainault area pop in for a stroll.

Back to the blog
So, it's been a while since I have blogged. Life got interesting and busy, New jobs, New hobbies, old problems but I am back and with the new blogger app on my phone it should be easier to blog.
However there will be some changes, along with walks my self and the pup do I will also be reviewing kit, walking, bushcraft and dog kit.
So keep an eye on the blog and I will post something interesting soon!

The Normal ongar route
This walk is a generally easy terran walk of approximatly 2 miles. Perfect for walking with a dog, Off road pushchairs should be ok but wheel chairs might be an issue. Crops at this time of year (End of July) are being harvested and paths might be closed on occasion.
Parking at Greenstead church (Free off road parking) we head through the gates of a nice large house (the old church lodge) then off along the Essex way.
As the field crosses the drive we continue down over a small wooden bridge then off down the field again, at the row of ancient oaks (about 300 years old by my reckoning) we turn north again and head across the field.
As the path reaches the field edge we keep along the path and then cross over a small wooden bridge and over this in to a large field. This field is not signed very well but head left and along the field edge and continue along this path until the Field bends and follow the field with the bend. Keep a look on the left hand side and you will see a field with sheep in it, its at the end of this field that you need to head through the gate and down a track. Put your dogs on a lead here, as there are often horses in the field and the last thing you want to do is scare the horses. At the bottom of the field pass out on to a concrete track. Turn right on to this track and walk along this, I suggest keeping dogs on a lead as this track leads in to a parking area for some houses.
Walk along the gravel drive and out via the large gate, This is the end of the car park for the church and where I would have generally parked.
Sorry for the lack of photos.... Next time I will get some

New Beginnings
The aim of this blog is to record the walks of my self and the amazing Doug. The Amazing Doug is a small furry walking buddy of mine who likes to eat raw meat and chew his tail... Doug clearly is a dog ( a Miniture Schnauzer, Border terrier cross)
Generally we do walks in Essex of abnout 3 - 7 miles (about the most that doug can deal with at the moment as he is only a year old and is building his stamina up)
